Location & Time:

The crash occurred on July 21, 2025, around 1:06тАпPM BST, shortly after takeoff from BAF Base Bir Uttom A.K. Khandker, near Uttara in northern Dhaka.

Aircraft Details:

  • A Chengdu FтАС7тАпBGI twinтАСseat trainer (tail numberтАп701), in service since 2013, was operating a routine training sortie.

Casualties & Damage:

  • Fatalities: At least 20 people diedтАФincluding the pilot, Flight Lt. Towkir Islam Sagar, and around 19 civilians (mostly students).
  • Injuries: About 171 people, mainly students, sustained injuriesтАФmany with serious burns.
  • The jet struck the front side of Milestone School & College, impacting areas where primary students and the canteen were located Wikipedia+8.
